It has been 26 years since that beautiful first episode of The Pretender. Jarod, Miss Parker, Broots and Sydney are seriously missed but I’ve very thankful for the 4 seasons and 2 movies we did get.

25th Anniversary of The Pretender

It has been 25 years since we first saw little Jarod say, “I’m finished!”

I loved this show so much from day one. Back then you could go onto the NBC website which had a section of “offices” for Miss Parker, Broots, Sydney, etc and profiles for Jarod, Kyle and Angelo. It was fantastic. To top it off they encouraged fans to join the “Centre Exchange” and become a Centre Operative or Pretender.

I loved the Centre Exchange and made many a Pretender friend there. I’ve lost touch with most of them but it also inspired me to create Pretender Headquarters way back when Geocities was a thing. It took me some time and it went live in 1999.

Share your love of The Pretender and tell us your Pretender origin story. How did you discover The Pretender?

The Translators featuring Patrick Bauchau

French film The Translators sets Agatha Christie-style whodunnit in the book industry.

The theft of a best-selling author’s unpublished manuscript sets off this glossy French whodunnit, a thriller with a nightmarish vision of freelance hotdesking that could easily have been a black comedy.

The suspects are the book’s translators, holed up in what amounts to a luxurious bunker beneath a French chateau, complete with a five-star chef, swimming pool and bowling alley.

Happy Birthday Harve Presnell

Happy Birthday to Harve Presnell, gone but not forgotten.

Harve was in practically everything, or at least I saw him in a lot and anyone who was part of The Pretender became rather special to see anywhere. And wouldn’t you know he was born in Modesto, California which is George Lucas and Jeremy Renner’s hometown too. It is were American Graffiti takes place and Monsters vs. Aliens. And I can drive there so that’s fun not that Modesto seems quite so special when you go. Just a smaller city like them all.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Parker. I’ve always wondered what happened to you in the end.

Happy Birthday George Lazenby!

Happy Birthday, George our Major Charles.

I know he was a Bond at one point but the few times I’ve seen him in things… Jarod’s dad. The whole time you wonder about Jarod’s father I actually wondered who would have the presence to be Jarod’s dad. I think George did a great job. I could see it. Impressive guy is the father of an impressive guy. Made sense.

And what do you know but George and Willie share a birthday. Very cool.

Happy Birthday Willie Gault!

Happy Birthday to Willie Gault who was Willie the Sweeper.

Admittedly, I do not have great pictures of him from the show. If you do and you are willing to share, please do because I’ve had a tough time finding great ones and getting screen captures is also hard because I have to find him and get a shot where they show him in the forefront rather than behind Raines on shooting Miss Parker from a helicopter. In Willie’s defense he was trying to shoot Mr. Parer. 😉

Point is… HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

The Pretender Cast Almost 25 Years Later

Most Pretender fans already know this stuff but it came up in my Google alert so I thought I’d share it. The photos seem older in most cases but again I thought I’d share.

Michael T Weiss and other former cast members of NBC’s “The Pretender” took different paths after the show, which premiered series almost 25 years ago.

The show, which started in 1996, had a mixed genre of crime, drama, and mystery, according to IMDb. The series was about a man with an ability to master any skill instantly.

He escaped a secret testing facility and traveled the country, taking different jobs, and helping strangers while avoiding his kidnappers. The show, which has more than 80 episodes, ended in 2000.

A lot of the behind the scenes stuff is original to when it was first shared with fans so it is low resolution and small dimensions but they are there for fans to enjoy.

Season 4 Images Available

That took a bit longer than even I expected but still good time. You can now find various images in all season 4 episodes files.

I’ve also noticed at times when the episode pages load there is an error which refreshing will fix. Apparently something needs to be updated and I’m waiting on said update. If it doesn’t come through soon I’ll look for another template.
