Patrick Bauchau Joins Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson continues his cinematic comeback with a brutal spell in a Mexican prison for Adrian Grunberg’s How I Spent my Summer Vacation.
Grunberg was the first AD on Gibson’s 2010 reworking of the BBC’s Edge of Darkness, a film which threw out a decent punch visually without ever sparking too much engagement however in the two clips we have for Gibson’s latest film (one today, one tomorrow) there’s a good look at Grunberg’s exploration of the chaotic and alienating environment Gibson’s characters lands in.
Gibson produces and stars alongside Peter Stormare, Bob Gunton, Dean Norris, Scott Cohen, Patrick Bauchau and the film is out in UK cinemas this Friday.

In case you are unsure about this image here is a quick reminder:
Miss Parker walks over to Jarod’s desk, picking up an origami figure made out of gray paper. Sydney explains that it’s an origami angel and that he hasn’t figured out the emotional connection to Jarod yet. Miss Parker then corrects him. She tells him that it’s not an angel, but Onyssius, “the Greek god of retribution. He defends the weak and abused.” A little annoyed, she hands Sydney the origami figure, “Here’s your breadcrumb, Sydney. Your sociopath thinks he his some kind of vigilante getting even for the little guy.” Pilot

More sibling get-to-gethers? Looks like Andrea will be joining Jamie Denton on Desperate Housewives this season.
Less Than Perfect star Andrea Parker has been tapped to replace Friends alum Jessica Hecht in the final season of Desperate Housewives, TVLine.com reports.
Hecht was originally cast to play the new girlfriend of Tom Scavo (Doug Savant), whose marriage with Lynette (Felicity Huffman) fell apart in Season 7. Talks between Hecht and the ABC series reportedly fell apart, so Parker will step in.
Parker, who will next appear in USA’s Common Law, is one of many additions to the final season, including and V‘s Charles Mesure and Protector star Miguel Ferrer.
Desperate Housewives returns Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9/8c on ABC.
What is that I read? Parker is getting a show on USA? That is what it said. I’ll keep you posted!

Less Than Perfect Season 1 Coming to DVD!
Retail industry sources have leaked the word to us that Lionsgate Entertainment, as part of their licensing pact with ABC/Disney, will soon be releasing Less Than Perfect – Season 1 on DVD! This 2002 sitcom was created by Terri Minsky (Sherri, Lizzie McGuire), and starred Sara Rue (Eastwick, Popular). Other cast during the show’s first season (out of four) included Andy Dick (NewsRadio), Zachary Levi (Chuck), Andrea Parker (The Pretender), Sherri Shepherd (Sherri) and Eric Roberts (who played “The Master” in Fox’s 1996 Doctor Who TV-movie). Not much is known about the DVD release yet, but what we are told is that it will be a 4-disc set and is currently planned to hit the streets on September 14th. That could be subject to change, though, so stay tuned for updated!

The network has opted to pass on the Bernie Mac-led comedy pilot despite being given a blind series commitment back in November. FOX and producer Warner Bros. Television nevertheless are hoping to develop something new with the actor/comedian, who has a talent holding deal with the studio. The multi-camera comedy featured Mac as a larger-than-life and opinionated man, who, after a divorce, finds himself living with and working for his introverted twenty something son (Bert Belasco). Andrea Parker, Ken Davitian and Silvana Arias also starred in the half-hour, which was penned by Bruce Helford. Andy Ackerman directed the pilot and also executive produced alongside Helford and Deborah Oppenheimer.
