REPORT: EXTREME
FILE #: 406
The show opens with Jarod sitting in a room watching a game show. A blonde woman walks in and asks him if he is ready to make the plunge and he says that he is.
Miss Parker, Sydney, and Broots are in an apartment where they tell the man that lets him in that they work with Jarod and that he has made mistakes and they have come to find him. Sydney finds a bunch of extreme sports items: books, bulletproof vest, etc. The man tells them that Jarod had him fire a loaded gun at Jarod while blindfolded. Of course, Jarod had the bulletproof vest on. Sydney says that Jarod has the urge to do extreme things. Miss Parker tells him that his diagnosis is to late again. The man that let them in says that they are not that late. Jarod had left less than an hour before they arrived. He also tells them that Jarod was planning to jump off a bridge.
We then see Jarod on a bridge. The blonde woman wants Jarod to be sure that he doesn’t want another bungee cord because the one that he has used has already been used 295 times, by Jarod. He tells her he needs it to last one more time. Then he jumps from the bridge.
Afterwards we see Jarod in a white coat at a hospital, walking down a hallway discussing the condition of a patient with another doctor. Jarod is told that in the patient’s hair there was industrial grade glass found which is odd. The doctor tells Jarod that he tested the glass himself. Jarod asks why him and not the police. The doctor says that the police are treating as a bungee jumping stunt gone bad.
In the patients (Tony) room, his mother is telling him that she wants him to snap out of the coma. That she wants them to be a family again. Jarod comes in and say that he always keeps him family close (he is talking about the pictures that she has of Tony and his family). She tells him that she thought that she would never see those pictures again, because his wallet was missing. Then someone found it at the nurses station in envelop wrapped in paper. Tony’s mother says that the pictures were taken by his sister Carrie at his last birthday party. She also says that he took off to find his father. His mother says that now Carrie is searching for their father. She also says that his friends from when he hung out with Zed used to come and visit but they stopped. She tells him that they used to race their motorcycle at Willowridge.
We see at person on a motorcycle racing on some back roads. Jarod is on the side of the road as the person on the motorcycle passes he takes off after them. He catches up to the person and leaves the person in his dust. The person then zooms around him and Jarod catches up. Then they both try going around a RV and the other driver ends up going off the road. Jarod flips back around to see if the person is alright. Jarod asks the other driver if they are alright. The driver pulls off their black helmet to reveal a woman. She tells him that she always wanted to be a hood ornament. She says that the way he was driving she thought he was a cop. He tells her not today. Jarod introduces himself and she tells him that her friends call her Shea. He asks if they are friends like Zed. He tells her that he heard that Zed races this road and she says that she thinks that he is a cop. He tells her that he likes her racing and decides to go on his way, but her bike won’t start and he asks if he can give her a lift. She takes it.
Back at The Centre, Miss Parker is saying how she thinks that Jarod is nuts. Lyle enters and wants to know what they found on Jarod and they tell him that he has a fascination with extreme sports. Lyle tells them that Jarod may be rejuvenating. He tells them that he rejuvenates his soul by going camping. Miss Parker looks shocked at Lyle and he asks whether she is shocked to learn that he likes to camp, and she tells him that she is shock to learn that he has a soul. Lyle tells them that he is off for the wilderness for three days and that his office will be able to reach him.
Broots comes to find Miss Parker and Sydney and takes them into their work area and shows them three sheds that Jarod sent them. Jarod also sent them a cut out cardboard figure of him that says, “Time for My Big Deal of the Day.” Miss Parker thinks that Jarod has flipped his lid. Miss Parker wants to know what Jarod’s big deal is. Broots says that they are to open ‘door number one’ with the key that arrived with them, and then the other three will open at the time that Jarod set them for. So Miss Parker opens door number one and discovers a giant fortune cookie. She smashes it to find a restaurant bill within it. The bill is for “The Hidden Truth” and they all notice that the waitress’ name is May Lin. They think about the restaurant and Sydney says that he has never been there because he doesn’t eat rice. Neither Broots nor Miss Parker have been there either. Broots asks her what it means. Miss Parker tells them that it means that they need reservations.
Jarod pulls up in front of a bunch of peoples hang out with Shea. She says hello and then Zed and Jarod meet. Zed wants to know if Jarod like to ride. He says, “Anything and Everything.” Zed want to know what he does for a living and Jarod says that he has trouble holding down a job. Jarod says that he gets bored easily. Zed says that he does whatever keeps Cheerios on the table. Shea tells Zed that Jarod can ride. Zed asks if Jarod wants in, and he says that he does.
Zed, his goons, Shea, and Jarod are out on the road and Zed tells Jarod that they are going to play a game of chicken, where they are going to race their bikes along the double yellow line at each other. Zed says he wants to get a grin from the gods, and Jarod says “Let’s make them smile.” Zed races to the other marker and turns towards Jarod. Shea tells Jarod that Zed is cagable. Jarod and Zed take off towards each other, but a split second before they are going to hit one another, Jarod veers off and ends up sliding on his side to a stop. Zed goes all the way back to Shea and picks her up and they both go to see Jarod. Zed tells Jarod, who is not hurt, that not even his buddy Tony took him that far. Zed gives Jarod a spot in his “tribe”.
Jarod is at a party like gathering at Zed’s. Jarod is talking to Shea about Tony and Shea tells him that Tony was in an accident while bungee jumping. Zed comes over to them and tells them that it is not a square dancing party that on Friday’s they like to do something new. Jarod says that they should make the gods grin and Zed says that he wants to make them laugh out loud.
Zed has a large bed of hot coals. He walks over them and then challenges Jarod to do the same. Jarod walks over them stopping at the end and then stepping off of them. Zed tells Jarod that he thinks that he is a slave to the same demons that he is. Jarod tells him that without demons there are no angels. Jarod then gives Zed an FYI- Jarod picks up a rock and tell Zed that it is a better conductor of heat so that if he is going to free his soul, he should really do it.
Broots says that their Chinese dinner was officially a zonk last night. Broots says that only prints on the bill are May Lin’s. Miss Parker doesn’t think that that is any help and Broots says that like he said …Zonk. Sydney walks in and tells them that Jarod’s door number two just opened. They are rush into the other room to find what Jarod has left for them now.
Miss Parker, Sydney, and Broots are watching “You Don’t Have A Clue” with Jarod Winkerdale as the game shows host. Miss Parker thinks that it is funny until he says that she is the lucky contestant. Jarod says that she has overnight to figure out her clue and if she does then she will win a trip to the Cabins O’Love hideaway in West Virginia. Jarod gives them the clue: The Hidden Truth May be missing but you won’t find it until you claim your prize.” The discover from Jarod’s little clue that he is talking about the restaurant The Hidden Truth and that the waitress May is missing and that she must go to the Cabin O’Love to find out what happened to May.
Jarod is in his office at the hospital and he is looking through Tony’s belongings and he finds the envelope with the white paper that had Tony’s wallet in it. Jarod grabs a pencil and starts rubbing the paper and soon a message appears on it. When he is finished, he is left with the paper and a message that says, “Harry’s Hotdog Station PAID”.
Jarod is at a hotdog vendor and is purchasing a hotdog for $4.00. Jarod goes to grab his wallet and when he pretends not to have one the man Harry gets upset. Jarod asks him if he has seen his wallet. Harry is puzzled and asks why he would have seen it. Jarod says that since he has a knack for finding wallets he thought that maybe he would find his. Harry says that when he heard on the news that the guy was in a coma he felt guilty and took the wallet to the hospital. Jarod says that he is an honorable thief. Harry says that he did not steal it; he found it in the bushes one day. He was cleaning up glass that from the broken window in one of the buildings. Harry says that it was the morning after a coin dealer on the 30th floor was robbed. Harry says that the burglars zip lined from one building through the glass of the other. Harry says that anyone would be crazy to do something like that. Jarod says, “Or searching for you soul.”
Jarod enters Zed’s hideout after Zed and his followers leave. Jarod goes over to the hot water heater in the corner, where Zed and his friends were, and finds a secret panel. Jarod opens the panel and finds the stolen rare coins. Jarod puts them back and then looks at some of the things on Zed’s desk. Shea enters and asks Jarod what he is doing and Jarod tell her that his bike is losing compression and so he was looking for a wrench. Jarod asks why she is in there. She tells him that she was looking for Zed. Jarod picks up a picture of Zed and his group with an extra guy. He asks Shea if she took the picture. She says that it was taken before she arrived. He then asks her if the extra guy in the photo is Tony, and she says that she believes so. She is a bit emotional about it, but she tries hard to hide it. She tells Jarod that Tony was part of Zed’s inner group. She them tells him that with Zed it is all about pushing the envelope and the people around you, and when he thinks you’re ready he invites you to the ultimate thrill. Jarod asks if it is the ultimate thrill or ultimate test. Shea says both. Jarod asks if she has been invited. She says that Zed must not think that he is ready yet. Jarod wonders if with Tony it was the ultimate thrill or test. She doesn’t know.
Zed walks in says that he did not mean to interrupt. Shea says that she will see Jarod later and Jarod asks Zed when all the fun begins. Zed wonders what he means and he says that he is not hanging around here for his health. Jarod says that the only people around here who are having fun are him and his merry little men. Zed says that the merry little men have pushed the limits of both mind and body to prove themselves. Jarod says that they have also pushed the limits of the law, because all these toys were not dropped off by Santa Claus. Zed says, “Whatever it takes to put Cheerios on the table.” Zed wants to know if J has what it takes. Jarod says that he doesn’t know.
In the next scene, Jarod is chained to a chair. Zed and his inner group have him sitting in front of a pool. Zed says that it is simple. He throws Jarod in the water and then he throws in the key and Jarod is to free himself before he dies. Shea thinks this is going too far, but Zed doesn’t. Zed then tells Jarod that he almost forgot something… a blindfold. Zed asks J if he can conquer the fear. Jarod says that he would be surprised at what he can do. Zed’s buddies pick Jarod up (in the chair) and toss him into the pool.
Jarod struggles with the blindfold but eventually gets it off. Zed’s buddies says that it has been a minute already. Shea wants to know why Zed is waiting so long to throw the key in. Zed says that he is helping J to be all that he can be. Shea tries taking the key from Zed but he doesn’t let her have it and he asks her how far she will push it to be the best. Zed’s boys say that it has been 90 seconds. Shea takes the key and throws it to Jarod. Jarod tips over the chair and gets the key. Jarod is unlocking the chains. Zed’s boys says that it has been 2 minutes and 15 seconds. Jarod is pushing his way to the surface. He comes out of the water. Zed says that Jarod’s mind controlled his body, and then welcomes him to the merry men.
A man is showing Miss Parker where May Lin stayed at the Cabins O’Love. As she is walking in the door she steps into muddy clay that ruins her boots. The man tells Miss Parker that he tried to talk to May but she was standoffish. Miss Parker is looking through May’s things on her dresser. He says that those people must like to keep to themselves… Miss Parker wants to know what kind of a racist comment that was supposed to be. He says that he meant her gender, single women and such. He then says that he noticed that Miss Parker is unattached. She tells him about as unattached as his limbs are going to be if he keeps eyeballing her the way that he is. He backs off and starts telling her that May Lin left in the middle of the night leaving a bill and her stuff: 3 dresses, 4 tops, shoes, socks, cosmetics, and 6 pair of little black panties. Miss Parker looks at him in disgust. He tells her that he had to do inventory, and she says that she bets he did. He then says that it is creepy that she would vanish the way that she did. Miss Parker agrees.
Shea goes into Zed’s hideout and goes over to the hot water heater. She finds the coins in the secret compartment. Jarod comes in and says that a good wrench is hard to come by. She starts to leave but he calls her Carrie (Tony’s sister’s name). She asks him how he knew. He says it was the pain in her eyes when he showed her the picture of Tony. He says that her mother is very worried and that she should go to her. Shea/Carrie says that she knows that Zed is responsible for what happened to Tony and she is going to prove it. Jarod tells her that Zed is not someone that you mess with and that she needs to trust him if he is going to help. She says that Tony met Zed who promised to help him find their father. Shea/Carrie says that Zed told Tony that he rode with their father in 96, but a month ago their grandmother called their mother (they didn’t talk anymore) and said that their father had died in 92. Shea/Carrie says that she told Tony this and he was furious and was going to confront Zed. Shea/Carrie doesn’t think that Tony had the chance to confront Zed, and Jarod does. Jarod tells Shea/Carrie that she should go home and be with her family and he will find out what really happened to her brother. She says that she will not leave that she will find out the truth. She says that she doesn’t know him but she like him. She warns him not to cross her.
Broots wants to know if Miss Parker found anything at the Cabins O’Love. She says that she discovered how to ruin a pair of Gucci’s with red clay. Sydney laughs and she tells him that it is funny… that the whole trip was a riot. Suddenly, the third shed that Jarod sent them buzzes opened and inside is a shovel with a note that says:
Be careful what you dig for.
23504 Blythe Street
Blue Cove, Delaware
Jarod
Miss Parker notes that it is Lyle’s address. She is puzzled by the shovel and the note but intrigued all the same.
Zed is telling Shea something when Jarod walks in. Zed tells J that the same invite goes for him as it does for Shea. Zed tells J that it is a little excursion. Zed looks at Shea and says, “Unless you don’t think you can handle it.” Shea says that anything that Jarod can handle she can too. Zed says since they can’t live forever they can try to live. Then he says that it is time to do battle with the gods. After Zed and his merry men leaver, Jarod tells Carrie that she doesn’t have to do this. She tells him that her name is Shea and not to forget it. Then she leaves too.
They are all in a van in front of a house. Zed tells Shea to into the house and get some build prints in an office. She is shocked that he wants her to rob the house and he tells her that it is about pushing the envelope. Then Jarod says that she is not ready. She says that she can do it. Zed hands her a gun that she leaves with him and goes into the house. Zed pulls out his cell phone and calls the security company telling them that there is someone breaking into his house and gives the address of the house that they are at. Jarod grabs the phone and says that he is setting her up. Jarod then tells the security company that it is just his daughter getting home late, and hangs up the phone. Zed gets upset and Jarod says how about a few calls to the police and shots the gun off. Zed likes the idea and then Jarod goes after Shea.
Jarod enters the house and is calling for Carrie. He starts searching the house to find her. Jarod follows a blood trail through the house. It leads to a room and he enters and is nearly attacked by Carrie. The police pull up outside and enter the house. He pushes her up against the wall telling her is it him. He tells her that she got the blueprints. He points out that her hand is bleeding and she says that she must have cut it when she tried to break in. She starts to faint so he picks her up and puts her over his shoulder. He grabs the blueprints and then tries to leave but is caught by the police. Jarod slams the door and runs another way. He is running to the van when the cops tell him to freeze. He puts Shea into the van and then turns around. The police fire and Jarod falls back into the van.
Jarod is in Zed’s place and he is looking at stuff on Zed’s table. Jarod finds the blueprints and looks at them. Then he puts them back as Zed walks in. Zed tells him that the Cheerios are in the cupboard. Jarod says that his arm… a flesh wound… started to bleed again and that he was looking for something to stop it. Zed says that there is no fun in bleeding to death. Zed tells him that it is all about trust. Jarod says that trust is key. Zed then tells Jarod that the first-aid kit is in the bathroom down the hall. Jarod goes that way and Zed has a suspicious look on his face as if he didn’t trust Jarod.
A nurse is checking on Tony’s vital as his mother sits by his side. The nurse walks out of the room and hands Jarod the chart. Jarod looks on at Tony wishing there would be a miracle. Jarod walks away from the window and off to some unknown location in the hospital. One of Zed’s merry men is across the hall watching Jarod and after he leaves peers through the window to see who is in the hospital room. He sees Tony and then he leaves the hospital.
Shea is packing her bag, and someone comes up behind her and puts his hand over her mouth. She starts to squirm and then Jarod tells her that it is him. He tells her that they are getting out of there. She tells him that Zed has been looking for him all night. She says that it is almost time. He says for what his final challenge. He tells her that she is coming with him. She tells him that she will not go and that she is going to prove that Zed put Tony in his coma. He tells her that it will be difficult to do from prison. He tells her that he found out that the Acme Warehouses is a front for money laundering. He tells her that he is going to use her to steal cash. He tells her it will be the same as Zed using Tony to rob that coin dealer. He tells her that they are leaving and they both start out, but Zed comes out and has a gun on them. Zed’s merry men handcuff Jarod and Zed grabs Shea. He tells her that he needs her as a sacrificial lamb. Zed tells Jarod that JoJo followed him to the hospital and they know that he is a doctor. He tells Jarod that the whole double identity must be a rush.
Zed’s merry men are strapping weights to Jarod. They are planning on throwing him in to drown him. Zed tells him that it will not be the same without him and to give his best to the beast of the gods. Jarod holds his breathe as he is tossed in to the drink. Carrie voices her protest saying that Jarod will die. She tries fighting Zed. Zed says to bring her with them.
They show Jarod in the water trying to free himself. He takes off his belt and picks the lock with the part of the belt that catches the holes in the belt. He gets the handcuffs off himself and then removes the weights and pushes his way to the surface.
Broots, Sydney, and Miss Parker are entering Mr. Lyle’s home and Broots comments that he hopes that Mr. Lyle is still on his camp out. Broots knocks something over, and Miss Parker resists the urge to yell at him. Miss Parker says that Jarod is making them run around why. Sydney says that there is something that Jarod thinks that we should know. They find Lyle’s expense report. They see that Lyle charges The Centre for everything under the sun; along with a dozen charges for the restaurant The Hidden Truth. Meanwhile, Broots opens a closet and discovers two shovels like the one that Jarod left in shed number 3. Broots calls over Miss Parker and Sydney. They notice that there is red clay on them like the ones that Miss Parker got on her boots. Broots then finds a hidden door behind the clothes in the closet. They all enter.
Inside of the closet, Miss Parker turns the light on and find a shed just like the three that Jarod sent them. Miss Parker goes over and opens the shed and they find a torture chamber. Sydney says that Lyle is locking himself in a shed. He says that when Lyle was a child his foster father would lock him in a wood shed for weeks at a time and now Lyle is trying to preserve his childhood. They come to the conclusion that Lyle brought May Lin to the shed and tortured her… Miss Parker says that Lyle murdered her. Miss Parker realizes that Lyle stalks Asian women and then brings them to his torture chamber.
Zed and his merry men, along with Shea, are at the Acme Import/Export where they are breaking in. Zed gets them in and tells his men to go get the money. The door closes behind his men. Inside, Zed’s men break into a safe and take all the money out of it. Outside, Zed is telling Shea that this is supposed to be fun. Zed’s merry men try to leave the room that they entered and somehow the door locked behind them. Zed tries to open it from the outside and he sets off the alarm. Zed starts to bang on the door wondering what is going on. Jarod comes from behind and pushes Zed into the door telling him that it is amazing what you can do with wire cutters and a garage door opener. Jarod also handcuffed Zed. Zed tells him to take the cuffs off, but Jarod won’t. He throws the handcuff keys to Shea so that she can unlock hers. Then she tells Shea/Carrie to go to her mom. Carrie runs off. Jarod tells him that he is going to give Zed something that he didn’t give Tony……. a chance. In the next scene, we see Zed hanging from a bridge on an old bungee cord (the one that Jarod used at the beginning 296 times. Zed is pleading with Jarod to let him up. Jarod tells Zed in an Aussie accent that it is time to do battle with the beast of the gods. Jarod taunts Zed for a while. He then tells him that Tony will never experience another thrill, but Jarod says that neither will Zed. Then he goes to cut the rope to let him fall. Zed gives in and admits what he did to Tony. Jarod then tells him that he has to taste death to experience life (Jarod says it with Zed’s accent, since they are Zed’s words). Then he cuts the rope. Zed falls until the bungee cord pulls and holds. Jarod closes the knife and says, “I guess this old cord had one more jump in it after all.” Zed screams for help.
Back at The Centre, Lyle walks into the room where Miss Parker, Sydney, Broots, and the three sheds are. He wonders if Jarod attended a Monty Hall garage sale. Broots is startled and shocked to see Lyle. Lyle tells them that he is relaxed and that he came in from the mountains. He says that he heard they had a lead on Jarod. But Miss Parker tells him that it was all a dead end. Lyle says, “It didn’t SHED any light on his personality?” He laughs. Sydney replies, “No. Not on his.” Lyle dismisses it and tells them that they all have to take some time off… a vacation. He tells them that they should get into the great outdoors. It makes him feel so alive. Miss Parker looks disgusted. Lyle leaves. Miss Parker’s phone rings and it is Jarod who is at the hospital. He tells her that one of them has to stop him. Jarod says that he was too late for May Lin. Miss Parker tells him that they will keep their eyes opened. She then tell him that they took a big risk breaking into Lyle’s place. Jarod says that sometimes it is worth it. Jarod tell her that he will see her next time on The Feud. Then they both hang up.
Jarod looks in on Tony with his sister and mother. Tony has come out of his coma and appears to be doing well. Jarod then walks over to a bag marked soiled linens and tosses his jacket into it. He walks off.
The screen fades to black……..
