REPORT: DONOTERASE
FILE #: 321-322
Part 1 of the Season Finale is Quallupilluit
Part 2 of the season finale begins with a dog sled crossing the arctic landscape. The driver is an Inuit and he arrives at the smoldering remains of the “Arctic Research Station, Ellesmere Island, Arctic Circle.”
Miss Parker, Broots and Sydney are searching through what is left of the arctic station. Miss Parker finds the trigger for the bomb that blew the station up and assumes that Jarod did it, to cover his trail. Sydney isn’t so certain – he reminds Miss Parker that Jarod usually leaves clues, he doesn’t destroy them. Sydney finds a scrap of paper, and slips it into his pocket without telling Miss Parker. Sam the Sweeper tells Miss Parker that they’ve found another body … Jarod is dreaming about the Captain giving him his Circle of Fire ring to give to his daughter … he startles himself awake to find the Inuit who was watching Miss Parker at the station, watching him now. The Inuit tells Jarod that Miss Parker and her team are at the station. Convinced now that Jarod really is the son of Major Charles, he tells Jarod what he knows about him – and gives Jarod a current picture of his Father with the Inuit and piece of paper that has a drawing of the constellation Gemini on one side of it and an address on the other side. The Inuit tells Jarod that the paper tells him where he will find his Father.
At the Centre, Mr. Parker is talking to Mr. Raines and Lyle. Mr. Raines says that he has heard from Bib Mutumbo himself, from the Triumvirate, and that he knows everything that happened at the research station. Raines tells them that Bib Mutumbo is happy about it all … that he took it as “a sign from God.” He goes on to say that Bib Mutumbo has ordered Project Gemini delivered as soon as possible. Then he expresses concern over Miss Parker – saying “like Mother, like daughter.” Mr. Parker tells Raines to leave Miss Parker to him … Mr. Parker, Lyle and Mr. Raines get on the elevator and the doors close. But, to one side, Miss Parker has heard everything they said!
Sydney is in his office, looking at the burned piece of paper he picked up at the research station. He is also watching the DSA of Jarod’s arrival at The Centre. Broots comes in and Sydney turns off the DSA and covers the paper. Sydney is curt with Broots and asks him what he wants. Broots tells him that none of the bodies that were found at the research center were Jarod. At that moment, Jarod calls Sydney. Sydney asks Jarod what he discovered at the research station and Jarod expresses surprise that Sydney doesn’t know about the DNA experiments. Sydney tells Jarod that he wasn’t even aware of the research station – Jarod tells Sydney that they were deciphering his genome there. Jarod asks Sydney if he knows what “Gemini” means and Sydney tells him that he is only aware of the zodiac sign. Jarod also tells Sydney that he is on his way to speak with his Father.
As Sydney hangs up, Miss Parker bursts into his office and she’s mad! She tells Sydney that she is going to ask him a question and she wants the truth … Broots tries to leave, but Miss Parker won’t let him. Miss Parker asks Sydney if her Mother ever mentioned a project named Gemini. Sydney tells her that he knows nothing about it. She tells Broots and Sydney that her Father, Lyle and Raines are trying to hide something from her that has to do with Gemini and that they are going to find out what it is. After Broots and Miss Parker leave, Sydney pulls out the burned piece of paper again … on it are written the words, “Project Gemini.”
At Willoughby, North Carolina, Jarod pulls into a motel called The Beyer Motor court. The piece of paper that the Inuit gave to Jarod says, “Beyer Motor court” and has the room number on it … 7 … Jarod finds the room and gets ready to knock, but finds that the door is already open. The room has been tossed and there is nothing there to indicate that the room was his Father’s … but there is a blood stain on one wall. Jarod hears a noise in the closet, opens it and finds a man hiding in there. He demands to know where his Father is. The man in the closet knows who Jarod is. As Jarod looks through the room, the man tells him that Major Charles left in a hurry – just before men in town cars arrived. Coop says that the “scariest man” was … a woman with blonde hair, sucking on a lollipop, and explains that the blood on the wall is his – from when she shoved his face into the wall. He says that he hid because he was afraid she had come back to hurt him again. Coop swears that he told the intruders nothing — says that he’s going to miss Major Charles … who has been staying there, off and on, for the last twenty years while he was looking for Jarod. But Coop has no idea where the Major went — he told him that it was safer for him not to know. Jarod discovers that a page has been torn out of the phone book … compares the torn book with one that is not and realizes that the missing page is for a flight school. This time, it is Jarod who tears the page out.
Back at The Centre, Broots shows Miss Parker an inter-Centre memo that was written by her Mother to the Triumvirate. The memo expresses her refusal to endorse Project Gemini and also makes reference to “Pakor.” The date on the memo is only a few days before she was killed. Miss Parker tells Broots to add “Pakor” to his research list.
In Iversonville, North Carolina, Jarod pulls up to the Osborne Flight School. He shows a picture of his Father to a mechanic and asks if he knows him. He tells him that the picture is the new flight instructor and then tells Jarod that he’s up in a biplane which is flying overhead. As Jarod watches, there is a puff of smoke and the plane crashes. Jarod rushes toward the crash as Brigitte watches the same crash through binoculars, from afar. With the glasses trained only on the crash – she does not see Jarod. Brigitte and Willie get back into the car and drive off. At the crash site – the smoke and flames prevent Jarod from getting to the plane itself … and he begins to suffer – thinking that he’s lost his Father – this time for good. As soon as he can get to the plane, Jarod examines the body of the pilot and realizes that it is not his Father. It is the student, who sneaked up in the plane on his own! Jarod has found his Father’s quarters … it is apparent that Major Charles left in a hurry. As Jarod looks through his Father’s belongings, a young woman comes up behind him, points her shotgun and asks him to give her a reason not to shoot. When Jarod turns around, he knows who the young woman is, tells her that her Father sent him and gives her the “Circle of Fire” ring that Captain Osborne gave to him to give to his daughter. She realizes that her Father is dead.
Broots is telling Miss Parker that he did not find anything else on Gemini or Pakor, but he did find out that her Father and Mr. Raines were very interested in Captain Russell Osborne, from the research facility. They think he might have been friends with Jarod’s Father. Broots has the address for Osborne’s only daughter — Miss Parker is ready to go! She tells Broots to pull Sydney out of his meetings at the Tower … but Broots hasn’t given her all of the information yet. He hands her a file folder — which tells Miss Parker that her Father has already sent Brigitte after Major Charles. Miss Parker is in her Father’s office and is telling him that Major Charles is not dead and lambastes him for sending Brigitte to do a job that he knew she wanted.
Carrie and Jarod are toasting their Fathers in Major Charles’ room. He asks Carrie questions about his Father, searching for some clue, any clue, about where he might have gone. Carrie says that the Major mostly worked on his computer – or went flying. He loved to fly. Then one day he came back from town, said some strangers were asking about him and that it was time for him to go. He made Carrie promise to get rid of his car … then left. Jarod wants to see the car. Jarod searches the car but finds nothing useful … except an empty file folder with the label “Gemini” on it. On the back is a phone number, which Jarod calls. He gets a recording, saying that “Pakor Frozen Foods is closed” … Jarod hopes that he will be able to find his Father there.
At the Centre, Miss Parker walks in to find Sydney immersed in paperwork. He tells her that he cannot go with her to North Carolina – that he has too much work to do. Miss Parker may or may not be buying it, but she leaves anyway. Later, Mr. Parker is talking to Sydney in The Centre Bio Dome … he is wondering why he had to meet Sydney here. Sydney tells him that he wanted the privacy to discuss Gemini. And he goes on to tell Mr. Parker that he wants Gemini … that if it is a reality, that he should be the project coordinator. At Major Charles’ quarters, Miss Parker has just met Carrie. Carrie lies to Miss Parker and Sam, saying that Jarod said he was heading to Florida. Miss Parker doesn’t believe her and tells Sam to head in the opposite direction … North.
In Maryland, Jarod watches a van go through a guard gate into Pakor Frozen Foods. On foot, he bypasses the security and slips into the building. He goes through a door that says, “Clinical Research” and sees the “Gemini” insignia on everything inside. A security guard sees Jarod on his video camera and sounds the alarm. As Jarod flees, he runs headlong into someone … and realizes that it is Major Charles. At long last, Father and son have been reunited!
Back at The Centre, Mr. Parker, Lyle, Raines, and Brigitte are watching surveillance tapes of Jarod and Major Charles meeting each other. Raines says that Major Charles got into the data bank and took the embryo disks. Mr. Parker says that it won’t be long until they know about Gemini and Donoterase. Lyle wants to know what he’s supposed to tell Big Mutumbo. Mr. Parker tells him to say that all is going well. Lyle, says “When in doubt, lie.” Then Mr. Parker tells Brigitte to find Jarod and his Father and tells Raines to call Donoterase – he wants to transfer Gemini in 24 hours.
In a warehouse somewhere, Major Charles and Jarod are doing the best that they can to erase the years of loneliness and searching. Jarod doesn’t know where to start… he tells his father that he can’t wait to see mom and Emily. Major Charles sadly informs Jarod that he was separated from the others when he went to find Jarod many years ago. Jarod starts to tell his father that Kyle is dead, but Major Charles tells him that he has already heard and that he was in the town where Kyle died two days after Jarod left! Jarod then proceeds to ask his father if it was he who shot Catherine Parker. Major Charles replies, “What do you think?” Jarod seems relieved.
Broots is telling Miss Parker that he was in communications last night and intercepted a call from Raines about Donoterase. Raines said that Mr. Parker ordered that something should be transferred from there in 24 hours. Broots also shows Miss Parker the security film from Pakor Frozen Foods … commenting that Major Charles didn’t seem to care who saw him stealing some disks. Broots’ computer search reveals something … and he and Miss Parker stare in disbelief at the computer monitor …
Jarod is dreaming again … Major Charles wakes Jarod – telling him that he was having a bad dream. He shows Jarod what he found when he broke the code on the disks that he stole. Pakor Frozen Foods is a facility to store biological parts … even frozen embryos. Jarod takes over the keyboard and finds something more. He tells his Father that the eggs that were taken from his Mother when she was at the fertility clinic are also stored at Pakor. Neither of them knows what it all means — but the disks tell them that whatever it is that is happening — is happening at a place called Donoterase.
At the Centre, Broots has found Donoterase … he tells Miss Parker that it is only a short distance away. Miss Parker is certain that if Broots has figured it out, so has Jarod and Major Charles.
Inside the barn, at Donoterase Jarod notices a trap door hidden in the floor in the middle of the barn. Jarod and Major Charles descend a ladder that leads from the trap door, down beneath the barn. They avoid a couple of lab personnel in white coats and end up in a hallway. A sweeper appears and asks Jarod what he is doing there … Major Charles decks him and with a little smile, tells Jarod that he’s not as old as he thinks. Jarod and Major Charles have found a lab-like area that appears to be holding twins … only they are twin *animals* not people. Major Charles wonders what “Old MacDonald is up to.”
Elsewhere in the underground hideaway, Mr. Raines is looking through a window – at a sleeping figure. Raines tells Willie and another sweeper that it is time to transport him. As Raines waits, Miss Parker and Broots appear. Mr. Raines is *not* pleased to see them, but Miss Parker doesn’t care and asks him what is going on. Right then Willie and the other sweeper bring out the person that Raines was watching through the window. Miss Parker and Broots are flabbergasted!
Jarod and Major Charles are still looking at the animals. Someone sees them and sounds an alarm. As Jarod and Major Charles flee, they run right into Miss Parker, Broots and Raines. The person they are transporting from the room is with them and the sight makes Jarod freeze … it is Jarod!! And it is not Jarod. It is Jarod as a 14 year old … just as he is in the DSA’s. Then Jarod is finally able to move and he and Major Charles hurry past the sweepers. Willie gets off a shot, just as Jarod and Major Charles turn the corner and hits Jarod! But somehow Jarod manages to keep on running anyway — he and his Father find their way back to the ladder … and Major Charles wedges the door shut – then he and Jarod escape up the ladder, back into the barn above.

Mr. Parker, Lyle and Brigitte are all watching the Jarod clone. Miss Parker enters and exchanges a few words with her father. He is clearly amazed by the clone – Miss Parker can understand why her Mother was so against the project. Sydney enters and is as amazed as everyone else. Mr. Parker tells him that he has thought about his request and is making him the project coordinator on Gemini so that he can find out how the clone compares to the original. Mr. Raines is appalled, but Mr. Parker won’t be swayed. Miss Parker cannot believe that Sydney wants to be a part of the project. Sydney isn’t listening to any of them. He opens the door and enters the room where the younger version of Jarod sits. There is a sick sense of deja vu as he says to the boy, “My name is Sydney. I’ll be taking care of you for a while.” Jarod and Major Charles are in an old hunting shack… one that they had used as a family many years ago to take shelter from a storm. Fond memories are mixed with those filled with horror as Major Charles tries to broach the subject of what actually happened to Jarod while he was under the care of The Centre. Jarod tells him that it does not matter…
In the Centre Sim Lab, the clone is being subjected to the same tests that Jarod underwent. Miss Parker is still not happy with the situation… but she is fighting a losing battle — no one else seems to have any reservations about Project Gemini. Later, she tells a nervous Broots that there is more to that project than meets the eye and they are going to find out what it is.
At Donoterase, Broots and Miss Parker are investigating. Broots tells Miss Parker that he has rigged the sensors, but they will only have half an hour before anyone notices them. They find a storage room that has all of the clone “failures” in it… mutations… strange shapes and forms. They are sickened by the thought of Mr. Raines playing God…
At the hunting shack, Major Charles watches his son having another nightmare and notices Jarod’s DSA case… Jarod awakes to realize that his Father has been watching some of his simulations and tells him that it wasn’t his fault… Major Charles’ laptop beeps… he has gotten into the mainframe at The Centre. His connection doesn’t last long before it ends up scrambled… but he manages to find out that the clone is going to be transferred to the Triumvirate. He just doesn’t know when.
Jarod tries to call Sydney, but Brigitte and Lyle enter his office and Sydney turns the phone off. Brigitte tells him that the time frame for moving Gemini has been moved up. Sydney protests that he won’t be done but Lyle tells him that he can finish his work once the boy has been transferred – the mainframe has been invaded, and they suspect Jarod and his father. Sydney says that he will fully cooperate…
Broots enters Miss Parker’s office and asks for a drink!! He tells her that he was able to backtrack some of the cloning records from Donoterase… it took 289 tries before coming up with the clone. What they saw in the lab was only half the story… the other half involved the surrogate mothers that were needed… all of whom have disappeared, without a trace. Broots tells Miss Parker that the clone is being transferred at dawn, to the Triumvirate station in Africa.
Miss Parker enters the clone’s room… he asks her what she wants him to do for her. She tells him that she only came to talk. This seems to take the clone by surprise… he wants her to tell him what she wants him to do for her. Once he comes out into the light, Miss Parker can see that he has been crying. They boy begs her not to tell Mr. Raines and she tries to explain to him that it is okay to cry… and to tell him why she is there… but he has no frame of reference. Raines has only taught him to use his talents for sims to help others and the child does not know how to do anything else. Just as she is getting ready to take the clone away, Lyle and Sydney enter the room.
Sydney is in his office, packing in a hurry so that he can go with the clone. Broots is incredulous. Miss Parker is angry. And then Jarod calls. Jarod asks Sydney when they are going to move the clone. Sydney tells him that he cannot help him anymore. Mr. Raines enters the room. Sydney tells Jarod… “No. And another excursion into the mainframe would be useless. I’m sorry Jarod, there is no ‘Refuge’ for you anymore.” Then he hangs up the phone.
In the hunting shack, Jarod tells Major Charles that Sydney told them not to go to the mainframe again. But Major Charles realizes that Sydney’s message contained a clue… and then Jarod realizes it, too. On Major Charles’ laptop, Jarod tries to access The Centre’s mainframe, then types the word “Refuge”… and then he smiles. In The Centre’s garage, there are two cars… Sydney and the clone get into the second car. Lyle directs the driver of the first car to go to the airport with no stops. He says the transfer plan is meeting them just after first light.
As they continue, the cars come upon “caution” signs and find flares along the side of the road. There has been an accident – the wrecked truck is still on the road. The cars are stopped by a flagman… Willie and Lyle are not happy, but there is little they can do. Lyle rolls down his window to complain to the flagman, but the flagman is Jarod and he shoots a canister of gas into the car, and Major Charles does the same to the first car. In moments, everyone empties from the vehicles, coughing and gasping for air.
A few moments later, Miss Parker approaches in her car with Broots. It only takes her a moment to realize what Jarod has done. Jarod is carrying the clone towards a “Department of Transportation” pick-up truck that is parked alongside the road. Major Charles climbs into a tow truck and prepares to delay Miss Parker while Jarod gets away with the clone. Jarod protests, but it’s too late. Miss Parker is already out of the car, with her gun drawn, and is ordering Major Charles to get out of the wrecker as Jarod pulls away with the clone. The clone asks Jarod who he is … Jarod answers him, saying, “I’m you.”
Back at the Sim Lab, Mr. Parker, Lyle, Raines, Miss Parker, Brigitte, Sydney and Broots are all discussing what happened – accusing each other – arguing. It all dies away at the sound of banging, tapping, sound. Bib Mutumbo is on the upper landing and he is banging his gold ring on the steel railing. One by one, some of the group tries to explain. Mutumbo says that Brigitte will be handling Major Charles. Miss Parker looks for support from her father but gets none. Mutumbo goes on to say that Lyle will oversee tracking down Jarod and the clone — another slap in the face for Miss Parker.
Miss Parker catches up to her father in the lobby and confronts him. He tells her that he makes the choices he does for the survival of their family and that she will never understand some of them. Miss Parker flings one last retort at him… asking him if it is really Mutumbo that he fears, or whether it is what she might really find out from Major Charles.
Back at the Sim Lab, Sydney is unpacking… the trip never taken and now, not likely to be. Miss Parker enters and to Sydney’s surprise begins a conversation with him. She tells him that Broots found out that Sydney tipped Jarod regarding the where and how to abduct the clone. They talk about the feelings that the clone brings back to the surface – for both of them. Sydney tells her that when he found out about the clone, he knew that he had to do something, regardless of the risk to himself. He tells her that if talking to Major Charles is important to her, then she should do it… no matter what. Jarod and the clone are at the hunting shack… he is talking to the clone, who is absolutely terrified of him. Jarod does not understand why he is so afraid. He doesn’t know that Raines has ‘programmed’ the boy to believe that Jarod is the man who killed his parents. Miss Parker, Broots, and Sydney are beginning to realize this… they are watching a DSA of Raines telling the clone these lies… and telling the clone that if he doesn’t help to find this man (Jarod), that he will kill some other little boy’s parents. Soon, Jarod understands, too… as he talks to his clone and realizes what Raines has done.
Jarod tries to tell the clone that Raines has lied to him. The clone wants to know what happened to his parents… if Jarod did not kill them. Jarod tries to explain, but the concept is hard for Jarod to grasp… it is nearly impossible for a young boy to understand. Finally, he does understand – when Jarod shows him his own DSA’s.
Back at the Centre, Brigitte is leaving Major Charles’ holding cell. Miss Parker is waiting in the shadows and enters… Major Charles tells her that she can beat him forever – he will never tell anything about his son. But Miss Parker isn’t interested in Jarod, she is interested in her mother and tells him so — as he tells her how much she looks like her mother, she raises his own gun and aims it between his eyes.
Major Charles recognizes his gun. Miss Parker tells him that he should recognize it… it’s the one he used to kill her mother. He corrects her, saying that a man named Raines stole it from him the day that Catherine was killed. Miss Parker is confused. Major Charles explains – on the day that Catherine was supposed to help him get his son back, Raines shot him and left him for dead. The bullet, he tells her, is still in his back. He tells her that her Mother told him that the Triumvirate had threatened both her and her husband because of what she was doing to rescue the children and because she opposed Gemini. Miss Parker cannot believe it… but he continues… and tells her that the Triumvirate threatened the life of Mr. Parker’s wife and daughter. He tells her that she was the other child that was to be rescues with Jarod — and that her Father knew about and approved the rescues. It was Raines, he tells her, that was the Triumvirate spy. All that her parents – both – ever wanted, he tells her, was love and to be with her.
At the hunting shack, Jarod fixes breakfast for the clone… a giant bowl of ice cream! The clone has never had anything other than nutritional supplements and Jarod is enjoying introducing him to real food. They try to figure out a way to get their Father back from The Centre. The clone gives Jarod and idea… saying that maybe they should Major Charles for something just as important. Jarod smiles at the idea – as the clone continues eating ice cream for breakfast.
In Miss Parker’s office, she is talking to Sydney about her Father and how she doubted him for so long. Sydney isn’t quite ready to buy it yet – he doesn’t understand how she can be so happy while planning to kill Raines. Broots runs in and tells them both to hurry to the lobby — something is happening. Everyone is hurrying to the lobby… Lyle and Brigitte as well. Sitting on the couch is Jarod – being closely watched by sweepers. Miss Parker wants to know where they found him… and Sam tells her that he just walked in on his own. He tells them that he wants to cut a deal. Mr. Parker for Major Charles. Lyle wants to know how they are to be certain that Jarod has their Father… and Jarod produces Polaroid’s… showing Mr. Parker handcuffed to a chair with Jarod behind him.
Jarod tells them that the exchange will be in two hours… he wants Sydney to bring Major Charles, in return he will bring Mr. Parker. He says he will call later with the location… and begins to leave. Miss Parker lets him.
In Mr. Parker’s office, Miss Parker, Lyle, Raines, Brigitte, and Sydney are discussing the situation. Raines cannot believe that Miss Parker let Jarod go… she tells him that it was the only move she will make — as long as her Father is missing, Raines is in charge. Both Miss Parker and Lyle are astounded. Brigitte asks Raines what his plan is… he tells her that they will organize two sweeper teams — once they know the location, one will scout and secure and the other will execute, Miss Parker cannot believe what she is hearing! Lyle tries to explain to Mutumbo that Raines’ experience with Jarod has been only administrative and that he knows him much better… but Mutumbo is not listening and does not change his decision.
Jarod calls with the time and location.
Back at the shack, Jarod stands with the clone. Mr. Parker is there too. Jarod is on the phone, giving the time and location to them. He tells them to meet him at Luckland Airfield at exactly 3:00pm. As everyone scrambles to meet the deadline, Raines pulls Willie aside and tells him that he will also need his best sharpshooter and tells him that Mr. Parker has outlived his usefulness.
Outside the door, Brigitte has stayed to eavesdrop, and she hears it all.
In her office, Miss Parker is quickly coming unglued. She is certain that Jarod meant what he said and she is just certain that Raines is going to get her Father killed. As Miss Parker prepares to leave, Brigitte enters and tells her what she overheard. She doesn’t want to believe her, but doesn’t dare not. The three of them leave… Miss Parker, Broots, and Brigitte.
In Sydney’s car, Major Charles is thanking Sydney for raising his son. He tells him that the person Jarod became is a reflection of Sydney. Then he asks Sydney what Jarod was like as a child. Sydney tells him that he was someone that any Father would be proud to call his son. On the passenger seat is a radio transmitter – Jarod is giving Sydney instructions regarding where to go.
Miss Parker, Broots and Brigitte are following… and they, too, have a transmit — but Jarod has told Sydney only that Major Charles will know where to go… that doesn’t help them at all. Brigitte thinks she knows where they are going, however.
Jarod taxi’s a plan into position. Mr. Parker is sitting near the door with Jarod, ready to know. Jarod tells him that he never plans on returning to The Centre and says that the clone won’t ever be returning either. He asks Mr. Parker one question… Jarod wants to know why… Mr. Parker tells him that to survive, man is capable of almost anything.
At the flight school airfield, Sydney drives up and he and Major Charles get out. As Jarod and his Father get ready to leave, he and Sydney share one last look… one relationship ending as another begins…
Miss Parker’s car accelerates onto the tarmac… Major Charles runs on board their plane and Mr. Parker is now standing right outside the door. Miss Parker, Broots and Brigitte are running towards Jarod… Jarod is angry – only Sydney was to come! Miss Parker explains that she had no choice… they are going to try to kill her Father and she must stop them… She screams at her Father to get back!
A helicopter appears above the trees… Raines is in it – and so is Willie, with a rifle pointed out of the passenger side.
Willie has Mr. Parker in his sight and Mr. Raines tells him to “do it.” Willie squeezes off the shot, just as Miss Parker steps between him and her father. miss Parker takes the bullet and falls forward, into her Father’s arms. Raines is still having Willie fire – trying to hit Mr. Parker… bullets are flying by! Miss Parker needs medical attention, but they are forced to take cover behind Sydney’s car. Jarod says Miss Parker is losing a lot of blood – they need to get her to a hospital.
Major Charles is calling for Jarod to get on board the plane so that they can go… but Jarod sees that he will never make it. He calls to his Father, telling him to GO! And Major Charles tries to do that — but the helicopter blocks the plane’s path and there is no room to take off. Jarod grabs Miss Parker’s gun as Willie takes aim to shoot Major Charles. Just as Willie is ready to take a shot, a bullet ricochets off the helicopter, then another and another. The pilot is forced to move to a safer distance to avoid the bullets with which Jarod is bombarding the helicopter.
Major Charles takes advantage of the now clearing path and takes off – leaving Jarod behind. Jarod goes looking for another clip, only to find himself facing the end of Brigitte’s gun. Jarod sees the motorcycle parked next to the hanger, distracts Brigitte by knocking her gun away and makes a break for it.
He gets on the motorcycle and starts riding away — but the helicopter is back – following him, shooting at him. Jarod accelerates the bike and tries to weave to avoid the gunfire… but one of the bullets finds not him, but a tire, and the bike careens out of control — skidding… taking Jarod down with it. Brigitte, Lyle, Raines, and Willie all stand around Jarod. There is no escape now. Raines tells Jarod that it is time to go home.
