Answering Questions

Somehow I’ve missed some correspondence from fellow pretenders out there. So I thought I’d just address them here as they are both questions all of us would like to know.

Will the Graphic Novel every be released in full?

That was the promise wasn’t it? We were told by the PTBs that we were going to see a Pretender Graphic Novel back in… 2013. We even got a sneak peek into it’s contents. That has been 11 years.

Is it coming? I honestly have no idea.

Do I think it is coming? No. Sadly, I feel like the PTBs have such a strong hold over The Pretender that unless they are working on it; we won’t see it. And it seems unlikely someone else will do something to reboot or revive The Pretender for the same reason.

Why is the center so concerned about Jarod being with his family?

This question also came with Mr. Parker’s quote that “he almost found his family, you know what would happen then”.

No, Mr. Parker, I have no idea what will happen then. Why don’t you tell us?

Easy answer is we don’t know. Hard answer is all speculation. Maybe Jarod reuniting with his family will somehow bring the downfall of the Centre. Maybe keeping them apart hides something the Centre doesn’t want anyone to know about. OR maybe once Jarod is with his family he had no need to taunt them and can essentially be totally free of them because he’s smart than they are and will just disappear with his family?

Now I have a question.

What is up with the prophecy?

“The Centre shall rise. The Chosen will be found, a boy named Jarod.”

What is the ultimate goal here? Is Jarod chosen to run the Centre? Because I can’t see that happening. So I think the Centre was around before Jarod was born so when they found him he was chosen? As what? I get he’s a pretender and he’s super smart but what is the deal?

My thing is that while I adore this show… I’m not sure we will ever get answers.

I have been a Pretender fan from the beginning. Jarod's story hooked me immediately and I started my PHQ journey on the then NBC message board for "The Centre" where fans could chat or roll play. My friend and I developed a whole story with friends online and eventually I started building a site mainly for the show but with a section with RP information for all those involved. As our online RPG faded that section eventually did too but my passion for The Pretender has not and I have revamp and moved this site 4 times: Geocities, ThePretenderCentre, Weebly and now my own hosting.
